DM I TIGNES 1

Så er DM i Freestyleski 2012 i gang og man kan næsten ikke forestille sig en flottere kulisse end et Tignes badet i sol og sommerstemning på bjerget.

Mandag stod den på Slopestyle og mens alle de dygtige riders kørte banen igennem, kunne vi andre nyde dejlige Burns, brugere på grillen og god musik fra flotte DJ's fra Vilde Dyhr!

Hos kvinderne var det dygtige Trine DJ der løb med sejren og hos herrene var det som sidste år Hans-Jakob Brandt der hoppede øverst på skamlen.

Dagen blev afsluttet med en vild fest på Saloon, med Emil Lange og Joakim bag DJ pulten! Det var fantastisk!

CATCH THE BEAT: THE ROOTS OF PUNK & HIP HOP

The Morrison Hotel Gallery is unveiling a new exhibit tomorrow called "Catch the Beat: The Roots of Punk & Hip Hop," which will feature the photography of Janette Beckman and David Corio. The two documented the punk and hip hop movements of the 70s and 80s as they both freelanced for rival weekly papers in London (Melody Maker and New Musical Express). They both later moved to New York, documented the hip hop scene in the 80s, and eventually became friends. They discussed their joint show, which comes many decades after first meeting, and say:

"This exhibition is the first time we have been able to show our Punk and Hip Hop images together—and may be the first time that both music genres have been seriously exhibited alongside each other. Whereas photographs of other musicians from the 1970's to the 1990's are often shown in galleries, it is refreshing to see that there are also exciting images from these two important genres that changed the world of music. We hope this exhibition will help viewers to realize how important Punk and Hip Hop are to the history of music and photography."

N.W.A. 'STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON' FILM ANNOUNCED

Without a doubt N.W.A, made up of Eazy E, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, MC Ren and DJ Yella, has had a huge impact on rap and on the music market in general. Today it was announced that Andrea Berloff will be writing the script to the movie “N.W.A. – Straight Outta Compton”, telling the rise and fall of the group. Via hollywoodreporter.com

Den populære amerikanske hiphop-duo Dead Prez viderefører den samfundskritiske arv fra grupper som Public Enemy og N.W.A. De hører med deres stærkt politiske og bevidste tekster til blandt de mest kontroversielle og kritiske grupper i USA i det nye årtusind.
Mange danske hiphop-fans har længe ventet på denne koncert. For ikke alene udmærker Dead Prez sig ved at have usædvanligt meget på hjertet, de har også evnerne til at kommunikere det live.
Henover årene har Dead Prez således oparbejdet et ry som et fantastisk live-act, der formår at formidle deres dybsindige budskaber med både passion og stor dygtighed.
Fredag den 14. august kan Dead Prez for første gang opleves live herhjemme, når de optræder i Lille VEGA.

Nike SB has launched the newest signature shoe from arguably the world’s top skater, Paul Rodriguez, the Nike SB Zoom Air P.Rod III and to celebrate the release of P.Rod’s third signature shoe from Nike SB, a commercial/video was filmed to honor the city in which Paul grew up in, Los Angeles, with a little bit of help from another one of LA’s very own, Ice Cube, and his song “It Was A Good Day”. This has got to be one of the best skate commercials ever filmed and produced. Look for an even longer version with cameos from some other LA celebrities at the end of the month.
