MJ TRIBUTE DAY



We spent all of last week planning our MJ shopping event ready to celebrate his up and coming tour so when we heard the devastating news on Thursday night we were in utter shock. We loved Michael Jackson and even have a T-shirt with his face on it.
So now we are holding a tribute day 11 July 2009, in our shop to pay homage to a man who has brought us so many thrills over the years. 11 July 2009

Udmærket hiphop-film, der dog ikke helt gør den store kunstner ære

Tidligere i år udkom filmen om Notorious B.I.G.. Den fik aldrig premiere i biograferne herhjemme, så danske Biggie-fans og rap-interesserede generelt kan nu nyde dvd-udgaven. Historien om Christopher Wallace, der kommer fra trange kår, går meget igennem og bliver til rap-fænomenet The Notorious B.I.G., adskiller sig fra biopics som Walk The Line og La Bamba ved at portrættere personer, der for de flestes vedkommende stadig er lyslevende og en del af mediebilledet. Det er således lidt mærkværdigt at se Puff Daddy, Lil’ Kim eller Tupac i helt andre skikkelser, end man er vant til, og det går ud over filmens illusion.
Skuespillerne og særligt Jamal Woorlard, der spiller rollen som Biggie Smalls, leverer habile præstationer, men filmen lider under, at man har valgt at lade ”Biggie” selv fortælle historien via en række voiceovers, og det virker underligt klodset, ligesom de mange citat-venlige punchlines er en kende karikerede. Ej heller den MTV-agtige og poppede klipning af filmen er for heldig, og man kunne godt ønske sig, at projektet var præget af større seriøsitet, end tilfældet er.

For a while now, we have been giving you some looks at the Nike women’s Air Max 1 Safari pack and now they are finally starting to pop up for sale. Now that they have begun to make their way onto eBay, we have some great detailed images for you to check out. This version sports a Red Plum upper and midsole with several sections covered by Nike’s beloved Safari print. Aside from the Red Plum overload, some minimal accents are provided by a touch of white and some tangerine orange on the lining and the upper eyelet holes. Vans Japan has come out with some nice product for the fixed gear bike community. Together with Fuji they built a custom track bike. The bike comes in matte black and features pink accents all over. Matching the bike, Vans worked with Resistant on a bike messenger bag. The bag comes with a black canvas upper, white bottom and matching pink lining.

NIKE TERMINATOR HI


A new Nike Terminator Hi has been released in a Matte Silver and Black colorway that also features some hints of Blue. What’s interesting about this Terminator is the material used on it, the inspiration having come from Nike’s Pinnacle Apparel Collection. The shoe’s upper features a soft cotton material in Matte Silver while the shoe is pieced together with what looks like bonded seams, the same ones that can be found on various pieces from Nike’s Pinnacle Apparel Collection. These dope Terminator Hi’s are available now at select retailers including Proper.

ROSKILDE FESTIVAL ÅBNER I SOL OG 25 GRADER!
Altså måske. Men årets Roskilde-vejr ser lovende ud, viser DMI's ni-døgns prognose.Vejrguderne og deres formidlere på Danmarks Meteorologiske Institut (DMI) giver ingen garanti for søbadevejr på årets Roskilde Festival. Men tendensen er lovende, medgiver vagtchef på DMI, Tine Zeuthen. »De fleste af prognoserne byder på sol«, konstaterer hun om tiden frem mod åbningen af festivalen torsdag 3. juli.

Tørt og 21-25 grader til åbningen
Og tendensen er endnu bedre for de efterfølgende festivaldage, hvor risikoen for regn bliver mindre og mindre.Altså ifølge de fleste prognoser, understreger Tine Zeuthen.
Orange Scene åbner festivalen torsdag eftermiddag, når svenske Petter går på kl. 17.
Og det vil ifølge prognoserne finde sted i tørt og 21-25 grader varmt vejr.

Ustadig optakt
Allerede næste søndag indleder en noget mindre scene, Junior Pavillon, nedtællingen til den officielle åbning. Og her ser det i første omgang ud til, at der kan komme regn. Eller i hvert fald ustadigt vejr, som fortsætter indtil tirsdag. Derfra ser prognoserne pæne ud.
»Langt de fleste af prognoserne melder om temperaturer over de 20 grader og med cirka 15 grader om natten«, siger Tine Zeuthen fra DMI, der i samme åndedrag understreger, at vejrbilledet kan se meget anderledes ud om få dage.
»Altså f.eks. river vi os i håret over, hvad der sker førstkommende torsdag«, siger hun.

NIKE BLAZER X CLAW MONEY



Nike has teamed up with New York graffiti artist and fashion designer CLAW Money for a limited release Blazer sneaker, to be released this summer at select retail accounts. The style will feature an eyelet pattern that is feminine, graphic, and subtly incorporates CLAW’s three taloned “mark”. Colorways will include Zest/White and Pink Fire, Flame Red/White and Ice Blue, and Black on Black with Anthracite.

This unique partnership between Nike and CLAW Money creates the next level of dialogue between Nike’s product and the very culture that has embraced it. “Nike and street art, have been teaming up since day one”, says Jesse Leyva, designer for Nike. “The worlds of sports and street are close, but what for me was very interesting about this project with CLAW was a female eye towards the iconic Blazer”

The Blazer collaboration with CLAW Money is the first in a two-part series. Next, Nike and CLAW Money team up to launch a limited edition of the Vandal Hi debuting in October.
